Angela's Award! Angela is a Scottish woman currently living in Virginia. She sent us an e-mail in early March in which she noted,

"I have visited your page and have decided to send you this Award. You have put a lot of hard work into your site and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Although I am Scottish and do not qualify to join your wonderful village, due to the fact I am pasty white, I am glad sites like yours exist as havens for people who need to be uplifted and embraced. I wish you all continued success for the Electronic Village, and hope you have no objections to my stopping by for a visit and a chat sometimes. Cheers."

It goes without saying that we have no objections to visits from anyone regardless of race, gender, or national origin. The Electronic Village is an equal opportunity website. Anyone from anywhere can visit and contribute. We are grateful that our Scottish 'sista' honored us with this website award!

Nitesky's Excellence AwardCheri "Nitesky" Smith presented us with her Excellence Award in March 1999. Cheri wrote us the following note,

"I am presenting you with my Nitesky's Excellence Award. I have taken a visit to your website and truly enjoyed my visit. It is very unique in nature. You have done a wonderful job creating it. I will return to visit again and check out your updates."

Ebonyfire's Resourse Award Our first honor for 1999 came from an African American female webmaster known as Ebonyfire. On January 12, 1999 she told us,

"I'm pleased to award your site, Electronic Village, with Ebonyfire's Resource Award. Your site is not only a valuable resource to the online community, but an educational tool as well. You are to be commended for your efforts to keep us aware. Once again, congratulations and continued success to you."

King of the Jungle Award We received the following e-mail from George Wilcken on September 6, 1998.

"Congratulations!!! You have been selected to receive the King of the Jungle Award for outstanding excellence in your web page design. Please wear our award with pride as your page deserves it! Good luck and continued success with your wonderful site!"

Suffice to say that we were surprised and honored to get this unsolicited note from George Wilcken. We hope that we can continue to live up to the expectations being set for us by all of our Villagers!
